Barbara Lynn King, 71

Barbara Lynn King of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

She was born October 2, 1951, in Elizabethtown, New Jersey to the late William and Evelyn Johnston; she moved to Lake Wales from Palm Beach County five years ago. Barbara was an author; she wrote a series of books called “Awareness to Action” and wrote and published a newsletter called “Encourager 3.0”. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 49 years, Brent Alan King; daughters, Bridgette Knoll and husband James of Lakeland, and Brooke King and husband Sean George of Jupiter, FL; son, Bryan King and wife Melissa of Wellington; brother, William Bruce Johnston and wife Katie of Canada; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Knoll, Morgan Knoll, Brady King, Carson King, Quinn King, and Fallon George.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 21st, at 10:00 AM until the celebration of life begins at 11:00 AM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Wales.
