Barbara Rose Hardy

Barbara Rose Hardy, 81

Barbara R. Hardy, 81, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her bedside. She worked and retired from Polk County School Board for over 20 years where she worked in the cafeteria at several schools.

Barbara married her husband Lloyd J. Hardy on August 18, 1962. They were married for 58 years when he preceded her in death.

She loved to sew, crochet, cross stitch, dancing, and cruising with her family. Her all-time favorite thing to do was to go to the beach. Collecting seashells, listening to the sound of the waves and watching the sunset. She also loved spending time with her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Born in Bay City, Michigan to Lawrence A. Dorion and Felicia I. Degrace Dorion, she is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; great-grandparents; and siblings, Joyce, Daniel Sr., Timothy, and Todd.

She is survived by her sisters, Rosalie (Dennis) Reeves, Amy Hardy Girod and Sandy Dorion; brothers, Layne (Rae Deane), Patrick (Vicki), and Vance (Tammy); children, Hope Hardy, Michelle Hardy Shain, Lloyd J. Hardy, Jr., Scott Hardy, Rebecca Hardy, and Carol Sundeim; grandchildren, David, Amanda, Travis, Lloyd Mitchell, Tristyn, and Rachelle; great-grandchildren, Axelia, Lacey, Lloyd Jace, Tobias, Addison, Malachi, Madelynn; and future great-grandson, Parker.

There are no services planned at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
