Barbara Ann Edmonson, 79

Barbara Ann Edmonson of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

She was born September 1, 1943 in Tampa to the late Harold and Dorothy Torrens; she moved to Lake Wales from Tampa in 1988. Barbara was a retired telephone operator and of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Lake Wales Moose Lodge 1974, the Lake Wales VFW Post 2420, and the Lake Wales Women’s Club. She loved bingo, bowling, gambling, and having a great time.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her first husband, David J. Brown; second husband, Donald Edmonson; lifetime companion, Charles “Gus” Meyer; and brother, Rodney Torrens. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Wise of Lake Wales; sons, David Wayne Brown and wife Judith of Frostproof, and Timothy Brown of Chesapeake, Virginia; stepsons, Michael Edmonson of Deerfield Beach, Donald Edmonson of Tampa, and Christopher Edmonson of Buchanan, Georgia; sister, Dolly Rianey of Tampa; brother, Richard Torrens of The Villages; eleven grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. David Durham officiating.
