LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Barbara Lee Bowles of Lake Wales died of cancer Wednesday (Nov. 9, 2005) at home. She was 67.

Born in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 24, 1938, she came to Lake Wales from North Beach, Md., 26 years ago. She was a homemaker. She attended Westside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bowles was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip S. Bowles. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Bowles, Alabama; sons, Stewart Lee Bowles, Jacksonville, Charles Wayne Bowles and Robin Dale Bowles, both of Auburndale, and Robert G. Bowles, Lake Wales; brother, Steven D. Lugenbeel, Panama City; sisters, Irene Lugenbeel, Norma McInturff and Jean Chaney, all of Virginia, and Ginger Carniewski, Crestview; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Westside Baptist Church in Lake Wales. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
