HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Avice Boykin of Haines City died of heart failure Saturday (April 22, 2006). She was 72.

Born Oct. 21, 1933, in Brundage, Ala., Mrs. Boykin moved to Haines City from Frostproof three years ago. She was a retired minister for the Assembly of God, pastoring in churches in Avon Park, Fort Meade, Haines City, Dundee and Plant City.

Mrs. Boykin is survived by her husband, Elmer B. Boykin; sons, Gary B. Boykin, Avon Park, Richard G. Boykin, Frostproof, James G. Boykin, Winter Haven; sister, Nell Singley, Americus, Ga., five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be held this afternoon from 3 to 5 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Frostproof. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Silver Hill Cemetery, Frostproof.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
