Aubury Stripling

Aubury “Strip” Stripling of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his residence.

He was born October 12, 1939 in Colquitt County, GA to the late Brinson & Ruth Stripling; and came to Lake Wales from Tifton, GA in 1954. Following his retirement from 48 years at Citrus World, he moved to Franklin, GA and worked for 10 years at the University of West Georgia as the groundskeeper. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Dolphins and the Gators.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Annie B. Stripling; daughter, Debbie and husband, Larry Crank of Carrollton, GA; sons, Dean Stripling and fiancé, Cindy of Lake Wales and Dwight Stripling and fiancé, Tammie of Lake Wales; sisters, Winelle Williams of Moultrie, GA and Laverne Sutton of Valdosta, GA; brother, Auburn Stripling of Moultrie, GA; and four grandchildren, Justin, Magen, Joshua and Jessica.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
