Arthur E. Schnarre, 91

Art Schnarre of Lake Wales was born on January 13, 1931, in Bourbonnais, Illinois to the late Elmer and Ivy Schnarre and went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2022.

He attended a one room school through the eighth grade. Proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed in Tokyo, Japan and the US Pentagon. Graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University where he met his future bride Elisabeth (Betsy). They were married for 63 and half years.

He is survived by his wife Betsy, daughter Virginia Schnarre of Lake Wales, sons Paul Schnarre and wife Debbie of Lake Wales, Mark Schnarre and wife Kathy of Cranberry Township, PA, and Andrew Schnarre and wife Veronica of Alpharetta, GA; and seven grandchildren, Emily, Mathew, Andrew, Kristie, Katie, Mateo and Carlos. Special friends of the family Michelle Fahey, and her children Eric, Mathew, and Sarah.

He joined the First Christian Church of Lake Wales (currently known as Christ Church on the Move) where he served as a Deacon, Elder and Head of Missions. He spent many hours volunteering at the church and the Care Center. He was known as “Grampa Choo Choo” to his grandchildren for his extensive HO Model Railroad layout which he built over 50 years. He loved train trips, old movies and watching all of his grandkid's sports activities.

He was a faithful man that loved the Lord, his wife, his children and his grandchildren.

The service will be held Monday, March 7 at 11am at Christ Church on the Move 312 Buck Moore Rd, Lake Wales, FL  33853. His final resting place will be Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida.
