Arsenio Delgado Vives, a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 8, 2026, at AdventHealth Lake Wales under the compassionate care of Vitas Hospice. He was born on August 22, 1940, in the town of San Luis Pinar del Rio, Cuba, growing up to become a man of remarkable character and unwavering dedication.
Arsenio lived a life marked by devotion and simplicity. As a retired building maintenance technician for Delta Airlines, he took great pride in his work, always ensuring that those around him were well cared for, just as he cared for his family. He was a devout Catholic whose faith instilled in him a sense of purpose and commitment to lead by example, embodying the values he held dear. His gentle spirit and kind-hearted nature made him not only a steadfast provider but also an extraordinary father whose love knew no bounds. When his sons played sports, he would always be there to cheer them on, never missing a game. Arsenio was fond of hunting and fishing; he would often be found tinkering with different things.
Arsenio was preceded in death by his parents, Natalio and Domitila Costales. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Brunilda Delgado, who stood by his side through life’s myriad adventures. Arsenio's legacy continues through his four sons: David and his wife Kristine, Arny and his wife Noreen, Edward and his wife Regina, and Daniel; along with his six grandchildren, John David, D’Mitri, Ian, Diah, Jazmin, and Nathaniel; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 644 South 9th Street, Lake Wales, Florida 33853, with Father Luis Osorio officiating.
