Archie Wingfield

Archie Wingfield of Babson Park passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1932 in Lake Wales; he was born and raised here, moved to Vero Beach for 30 years and returned in 1991. He was a citrus grower/owner of Wingfield Groves and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales. He played semi professional fast pitch softball and basketball, enjoyed playing the guitar. He was also an avid fisherman and Florida Gator fan.

Archie is survived by his companion, Kathleen Hunt of Bartow.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 1, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales with visitation at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
