ANNA MARTHA SINGLETON
Anna Martha Singleton of Lake Wales passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at her residence.
She was born October 20, 1928 in Malvern, AL to the late Christopher and Myrle Messer; she grew up in the Lake Wales area, moved to Texas for 20 years and returned to Lake Wales in 1969. She was a homemaker and member of the Golfview Baptist Church. She loved her family, people, gardening and the outdoors.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Whit Singleton; brothers, Joe Messer, Robert Messer, Jerry Messer and a sister, Helen Medlock. Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Akin of Texas and Brenda Grulke (Randy) of Lake Wales; son, Mike Singleton (Tammy) of Lake Wales; sister, Phyllis Batson (Lamar) of Lake Wales; brothers, Chris Messer of Lake Wales and Mark Messer (Evelyn) of Lovelady, TX; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Golfview Baptist Church with Rev. David Koon officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
