Anna Virginia Charters

Anna Virginia Charters of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Young at Heart Adult Care Center.

She was born July 4, 1915 in New York City to the late Dominick & Virginia (Castellano) Santacroce. She moved from Blauvelt, NY to Lake Wales, Florida in 1972 and to Port Charlotte in 2007. She was a retired Senior Stenographer for Rockland State Hospital. She volunteered for many organizations including the Nyack Community Ambulance Corp in Nyack, NY and the Keenagers in Lake Wales, FL.

Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter R. Brown and second husband, William Charters. Survivors include her daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Von Holden (Martin) of Port Charlotte; son, Raymond T. Brown of Fort Montgomery, NY; step-son, Bruce B. Brown (De) of Kissimmee, Florida; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and from 7:00 until 9:00 pm, Friday, May 13, 2011 and the funeral service for Anna will be held 10:00 am Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack, NY with interment immediately following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, NY.
