Ann Lawrence Swasey

Ann Lawrence-Swasey of Lake Wales passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Tampa General Hospital.

She was born December 9, 1922 in Henryetta, OK to the late Russell Ward & Bernice (Campbell) Hughes; she came here from Pittsburgh, PA over 20 years ago. Ann graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women and was a teacher. She enjoyed music and played the flute, guitar, piano and violin. She enjoyed family times and was a poet and author of family history and memoirs.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Swasey; daughter, Carol Lawrence (Mike Keller) of Palo Alto, CA; sons, Pat Lawrence (Patty) of Philadelphia, PA, Russell Lawrence (Lisa) of St. College, PA and Mike Lawrence (Teresa) of Denver, CO; sister, Margaret "Mig" Whipps of Yukon, OK; 11 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, July 22, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating.
