Iva Ann Causey Irby: 83, of Lake Wales, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May
26, 2022, with her children by her side. Ann was the widow of beloved husband, Robert M. Irby,
whom she was married to for over 60 years.
She was born in Ruston, Louisiana on January 3, 1939, to the late Robert Edward “Ned” and Iva
Estelle Causey. She was preceded in death by two brothers Harrell Edward Causey, James
Franklin Causey and one sister Mary Alice Causey Harlen.
Ann is survived by her four children; Bobbie Annette Irby, of Winston-Salem, NC, Patrick
Wayne Irby and wife Patricia of Winston-Salem, NC; Denise McCharen Irby, of Norfolk, VA;
and Amie Irby Green and husband Lawrence Green from Swansboro, NC and Philip Weikert
from Lake Wales, Fl, who was like an adopted son for over 18 years. Eight Grandchildren,
Jeanette Lyn Sykes, Candace Brooke Irby, Christopher Wayne Irby, Christopher Ryan Jutze,
Rachel Denise Irby, Brandi Nichole Jutze, Coty Alan Jutze and Ella McCharen Green; and
Eighteen Great Grandchildren.
Ann was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had many
passions including the piano, fishing, the beach, and competing with dad on the golf course. She
was also a dedicated church organist for over 50 years. As we rejoice in the knowledge that she
is in heaven with our dad, we are deeply saddened by her passing. She will truly be missed by
all who knew her, and in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 3rd at 11:00 am at Lake Wales Lutheran Church,
640 South Scenic Hwy, Lake Wales, FL 33853. Visitation will be held after the service in the
fellowship hall. If you would like, please wear Purple as that was mom’s favorite color.
The Irby children are handling the arrangements.
Please, share your thoughts and memories of Ann in the guestbook.
