Angel Manuel Ortiz

Angel M “Ruby” Ortiz of Winter Haven passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Angel was born January 20, 1955 in Salinas, Puerto Rico.  He was a professional boxer from 1973 – 1982 known as “The Snake” with a professional record of 24 wins, 13 losses and 4 draws. He was a clerical worker for the NYC DCAS for over 34 years.

Angel loved music and spending time with his grandkids.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years; his daughters, Millie and her husband Rey and Gloria and her husband Nick; his son Tito and his wife Lillian; his grandchildren, Crystal, Nicholas, Jillian, Bianca, Joshua and Ashlee and his 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held @ 10:00am Friday, April 9, 2021 with funeral service at 11:30am at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Iskra officiating. Interment will be held at the Rolling Hills Cemetery in Winter Haven.
