LAKE WALES--Amanda D. “Mandy” Herndon, 31, of Lake Wales died from leukemia Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.

Born July 13, 1975 in Winter Haven; she came here from Winter Haven in 1992. She was a paraprofessional for Polk Avenue Elementary School and was a member of the High Point Church. She was very active with her children and their activities and served many volunteer hours at her school. She was an avid Gator fan.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Herndon of Lake Wales; daughter, Layna Herndon of Lake Wales; sons, Logan Herndon of Lake Wales; Tyler Herndon of Lake Wales; Josh Herndon of Winter Haven; parents, William D. “Bill” & Sheri Holder of Lake Wales; sister, Heather & Tim Sanders of Lake Wales; nieces, Ashleigh Sanders; Beranda Foust; and nephew, John Michael Hicks.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, June 04, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 05, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Hilligoss officiating. Interment will follow at Eagle Lake Church of Christ Cemetery.
