Alma H. Douglas

Alma H. Douglas of Wahneta passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born October 19, 1922 to the late Foy & Stella Hall; she came to this area 70 years ago from Lake Placid, FL. She was retired from Ben Hill Griffin, Inc and Proctor & Gamble and was attended the Winter Haven Church of God. She enjoyed sewing, quilt making and family times.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Douglas in 1974, a daughter, Alice Corley, a son, Earnest Douglas and a grandson, Chad Harrison. Survivors include her daughter, Gail Harrison and husband, Bobby of Eagle Lake; son-in-law, Richard Corley Sr. of Winter Haven; sister, Aretha Fuller and husband, Gerald of Sebring; 7 grandchildren, Kathy Mallony, Richard Corley, Sandra Lewis Smith, Mike Harrison, Tina Harrison, Celeste Harrison and Diron Harrison, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Winter Haven Church of God with Rev. Joseph Heard, Rev. Sammy Haag and Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Forrest Hills Cemetery in Haines City.
