Alison Peavy Atkins, 52, of Frostproof, passed away June 29th, peacefully at her home. She was born on March 29, 1965 in Lakeland, FL to the late Luther J. and Elizabeth Juanita Peavy; and moved to Frostproof from Lake Wales 17 years ago. She worked as a clerk for Watson’s Pharmacy in Frostproof but later on worked at StarBucks. Alison loved people. She had a beautiful smile and could brighten anyone’s day and she always put everyone else ahead of herself. She loved her cats, enjoyed crocheting, coloring books and putting together puzzles. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Alison was survived by her husband of 16 years, Arthur Atkins; sisters, Judy Buxton, Elaine Mimbs and her husband, Mike all of Lake Wales, Paulette Holley and her life long companion Larry of WI; brothers, John Peavy and his wife, Jane, Rick Peavy, all of Lake Wales and Donald Robbins and his wife, Katie of Quantico, VA, Kenneth Lewis of wife, Rosie of Lake Wales; and step-mom, Ellen Peavy of Lake Wales. A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Jim Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Cornerstone Hospice at 2590 Havendale Blvd NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
