Alfonso “Al” Ruffino of Nalcrest passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence.
He was born September 1, 1944 in Chicago, IL to the late Alfonso A. & Vitina Ruffino; and he came here from Plattsburg, NY in 1999. He was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a veteran of Viet Nam and Desert Storm, serving in the US Air Force and US Army Reserve. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Nalcrest Eagles softball club, NACL Branch 1A, Nalcrest Residents Association, Nalcrest Horseshoe Club and Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Prenoveau Ruffino; daughter, Vitina Ruffino-Mosher and husband, Jacque of Fort Plains, NY; sons, Andrew Ruffino and wife, Lorraine of Mt. vision, NY and Daniel Ruffino and wife, Bethany of Goldsboro, NC; brothers, Anthony Ruffino of Glen Ellyn, IL and Bernard Ruffino of Chicago, IL; and eight grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled at this time. Military burial will be held at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
