Alene Willis Winegard

Alene Willis Winegard, 92 of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

She was born June 6, 1922 in Omega, Georgia to the late James P. and Cora V. (Evans) Willis and has been a resident of the area since 1949 moving here from Frostproof. She was a retired Beautician with Kut-N- Kurl. Alene was a former member of Lake Wales LaSertoma, she was a volunteer at Lake Wales Hospital and Lake Wales Police Department as a member of V.O.I.C.E.

She was preceded in Death by her husband, Hardy E. “Dick” Winegard in 1991, her son, Robbie C. Winegard in 1978, grandson, John Michael Winegard and great grandson, John Michael Winegard, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Freddy I Winegard and wife Sharie of Nashville, Ga, Ronnie E. Winegard of Ocala, FL; sister, Betty J. Mauldin of Lake Wales; 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or Somers Hospice House.
