Alan Francis McEachern, 77 

Alan Francis McEachern of Lake Wales passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at Somers Hospice House.

He was born April 29, 1947 in South Boston, Massachusetts. Alan served in the United States Air Force from 1966 until 1970 then served in the National Guard from 1978 until 1981. He was a firefighter at the Otis Air National Guard Base in Massachusetts from 1982 until his retirement in 2004.

Alan and his wife lived in Manchester, Maine for 10 years where he enjoyed his retirement. In 2015, they made the decision to move to Lake Wales so they could both enjoy days swimming, watching the sailboats on Lake Wailes, and enjoying life together.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Elizabeth McEachern; three children, Dawn Marie McEachern of Minnesota, Alan McEachern, Jr. of New Hampshire, and Ann Kimball of Massachusetts. He has one living sister, Karen Rancourt of Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews that loved him. Alan leaves behind many good friends and former colleagues. Alan will be missed by all.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Pauline McEachern; and three brothers, Donald McEachern, Dennis McEachern, and Adrian McEachern.

No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alan's honor can be made to Somers Hospice House (1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870).
