Ackley Gordon Carter

Ackley G. Carter, 86, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Savannah Court.

He was born July 24, 1928 in Englewood, New Jersey to the late Leslie and Grace (Cox) Carter and has been a resident of the area since 1999 moving here from New Jersey. He began his career as a house wares buyer in New Jersey then started his own company in Madrid, Spain called “Interberia” and was there for 22 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge, He was a Para Trooper serving for the US Army in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed being outdoors and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Carter in 2011
Survivors include his, son, Steve Carter and wife Lisa of Winter Haven; 1 grandson, Spencer

Memorial services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Fr. Thomas C. Seitz, Jr., and Rev. Joanie Brawley officiating.
